Reloading Question...Die's

DIRTYRAT
Does anyone here know if reloading die's are interchangeable between the different brands of Presses...??? Reason being that I have a "Lee" Press and wanted to buy some "RCBS" die's but I wasn't sure if they would fit my press...Will "Lyman" or Any other type work? Will "Lee" die's fit into other presses??

    Most (Lee, RCBS, Lyman, etc.) current dies are 7/8-14tph and are interchangeable. IMHO the Lee dies are excellent for the money.

    yep to all the above and I have most makes and there is not realy that much differance. Have more rcbs but I think they have market advantage price goes to Lee. But Redding has to be the best constructed

    I still have a number of Lee and RCBS die sets and had not real complaints, but when I bought my .25-06 last fall I spent the few extra $ for Redding dies and I agree they are well worth it. All of My future die sets will probably be Redding.

    The only problem I have found with different press and die combos. Is If you have a Hornady Lock-N-Load Progressive the Lee Dies are a bit to short.Lee has brought out some new dies that are a little longer and correct this problem.

    Yes, except unless you have some of the older Lyman dies, made for the
    Lyman "tong tool" or the Lynam "Tru Line Jr." press. These must be used
    in newer tools only with the 7/8" threaded bushing which I doubt Lyman
    still makes.
