Just picked one up in trade what is its value and who made these and where they came from?

  Made by whoever was lowest bidder at the time so far as I can tell. Most likely Stevens, but there are others.
  
  I quote singles at $35.00. That assumes a working gun. Others will tell you more and that's not altogether untrue. The problem is that utility singles are at the bottom of the barrel as far as popularity. You can put a price tag on one of these for $75.00 or more, but I'll guarantee that you and the gun will have a long-term relationship.
  
  Even at the price I quoted your gun won't exactly hop off the table. A dealer in working guns might show some interest, but only if he's pretty certain he has a buyer. For those of us who appreciate fine guns, I'm sorry to say that even an offer of free wouldn't be of interest.

  Nord has pretty well covered the value of your shotgun, as to the who, Westernfield was a house name put on firearms sold by Wards. We would need the model number to find the manufacturer, which you can do yourself with the crossover list in the Blue Book, or at the Gun Parts Corp Web site. Value is largely dependant upon condition, but sadly as Nord says even one NIB does not attract much collector interest and so very modest prices. Take heart, if it is working it may be a fine shooter. I have a J.C.Higgins .22 that cost under $100 back when I was a kid. It still shoots better than I do, and I would not thake $1000 for it.
