Value of Rem 700

I have a Remington 700 BDL in 300 Weatherby Mag. It has less than a box full of shells through it, no scratches or nicks, like new, has a new Tasco world series 3x9 would take off if not wanted.Whats the value of this? Thanks

    Are you talking about a 700 classic? If your rifle has a satin
    walnut classic stock it may be a limited edition classic, Remington
    released the 700 classic in a new caliber every year in limited quantites, The 700 classic in 300 Wby mag was made in 1990 or 91 if i recall, I am almost positive they never made a production BDL in that caliber so it must be the classic, In that condition collectors will
    pay much more than a basic BDL, Nice rifle by the way[:D]

    there were very , very few bdl"s made in 300 wby...if it is truly a bdl and not a classic in a bdl stock, it could be worth around $600 to the right person...I have only seen 1 of these guns

    Is it a 300 Wby. mag. or 300 Rem. mag.? The Wby. was only made in limited quanities during 1989. These will sell for a premium price in new condition(in the box).[:p]

    It's a 300 weatherby, it has a satin finish and I just assumed it was a BDL, I bought it in the early 90's and was told it was a limited edition and that Remington also issued a 7MM Weatherby Mag in the same gun.

    Dan, I believe you have a Remington 700AS. These were made from 1989-1991. They had a matte black finish and a light colored black stock made from arylon resin. Even the bolts were black. They had the floorplate like the BDL's. If your stock is wood it has been changed. The AS was chambered in 22-250, 243, 270, 280, 3006, 308, 7mm Rem. Mag.,and 300Wby Mag. Value in excellant original condition would be about $500.
    The satin(matte) finish rules out a BDL or Classic unless it has been refinished.

    If you have the box look at the end and see what the label says. Also look at the letters on the barrel (just in front of the receiver) and if the see if the second letter is a "p", if so you probably have a Classic and its value should vary from 450.00 to 600.00 based on the prices that they have been selling for lately. If you have a satin stock you do not have an "AS". "Satin" finish is the way they are advertised by Remington. This is taken from the description from Remingtons website.

    "The Model 700 Classic bolt-action rifle features a traditional American walnut, straight-combed "Classic" style stock with low-gloss, satin finish, crisp-cut checkering and swivel studs. Adding to the distinguished appearance of this Model 700 is the clean 24-inch high polished, blued carbon steel barrel and long action receiver. The hinged floor plate magazine has a capacity of four plus one in the chamber. Dating back to 1981, the impressive list of one-year limited edition Model 700 Classics has included many of the truly great centerfire chamberings."

    This is just what my research is indicating. Others may have a different input and I can only give you information from what information you give us.
