    I'm pretty sure it's Beretta... I think they opened in the late 1700's (1786 it seems like). I watched a show on them on the history channel. The wording they used was they were the oldest CONTINUALLY running gun manufacturer.
    I think here in the U.S. it's Remington...

    Again, both of these are from recallection, so take it accordingly.

    I will answer this from a slightly different perspective...

    The oldest U.S. firearm maker is Remington[:p]

    Some one in China, me thinks. Gun powder was invented there. That is if you are talking about arms that use gun powder. If not then i belive the oldest recorded man is found on the African continent.[8D]

    My son's got my Beretta O/U now but as I remember engraved on it's receiver is, "Pietro Beretta since 1546". That's A.D.
