Chip McCormic Power 8 Mag
Looking for contact address for Chip McCormic parts. I have purchased 2 1911 .45 power 8 mags and they don't work worth a darn. Gun came with a power 8 and it works fine, but new one's are different spring tension and different tongue design. Feeds OK but will not lock slide back after last shot. No problem with original, Wilson, or Magtec. So I'm planning on sending an email complaint, if I can find "who" to complain to. Original package is gone.
If there's another thing I should check, let me know BEFORE I write and stick my foot in my mouth. Any help would be appreciated. Couldn't find them on web search.
Thanks guys

He's one of those folks, who have a combination of Upper and lower case letters in their URL's. Why somebody in business would want to do something like that is a mystery to me?

Thanks rufe-snow:
I always know someone out there knows the answer.0 -
If there is an observable solution, I would also like to know.
I have about 10 Mc8 mags that operate fine in my old Colt and my 'parts' gun. In a recently aquired (new) Springfield, some of them won't hold open on empty. I was hoping that as the S'field was broken in the problem would clear up. Any insight would be appreciated.0 -
Stolefrom:
I called and talked with the factory. Based on the follower at the top of my Mag being "round" vs. sharp edge, they think that I "may have" a .45 mag with .38 guts. DON'T KNOW FOR SURE so don't take this as gospel.
I am sending them back for evaluation.
The springs on mine were very weak and you could push the follower forward quite a bit, and the follower had a rounded edge on the left side (mag facing forward). Other Mags had a straight edge.0 -
I find that in every 1911 that I've owned accept for one, they either like just one of two magazines. They will either feed with Wilson Combat mags, or with Chip McCormik mags, but not both. 0 -
I have quite a few different 1911s and have never had any problems with either the Wilson or Baer mags, period!!! McCormicks for me were a maybe, maybe not.
