Comments on the Savage 30r17?

I'm itching for a 17 hmr rifle and the Savage single shot, lever action falling block, model 30r17 looks interesting. I can't find one anywhere locally and will likely end up ordeing one or buying through gunbroker. Since I might not get a chance to see one until I own it, can anyone give me their personal assessment of this gun. I've been told several times that the fit and finish are lacking although the only comment I got on the gunbroker general discussion forum praised the gun. Have any of you seen the new reproduction rifle? Any opinion are welcome.
