Wish to find a source of information explaining the mechanical functions of parts, in detail, during the operation of this rifle. Will greatly appreciate knowing of available reference. Thanks for your help - please address to jclane40@yahoo.com

    Hello Doc,

From time to time, I see repro manuals for the Model 1890/1906 at the Antique gun shows that I attend, and on eBay. Outside of that, your best bet is to get a copy of Ned Schwing's book

TITLE: Winchester Slide-Action Rifles: Model 1890 and Model 1906
    ISBN: 0-873412-09-5
    Publisher: Krause Publications
    Publish Date: 05/01/1999

    Dear Bert H
Thanks for the reply. I have Ned Schwing's book but what I am looking for may not exist. I wish to understand what every working part does as the rifle is operated. From experience of rebuilding about 50 of these guns I have learned a good bit but ever now I get "stumped" on a problem and have to figure it out.
    Thanks for writing. Sincerely,
    JCL

    Hello Doc,

You may be right about that... I am not sure that I have ever seen anything with that type of detail. However, "figuring it out" is half the fun[:D] Good luck with your search (and please let me know if you find anything).

    Regards,

    Bert H.
