mossburg mod. 83-B

picked one up at a flea-market for $15.00 Just out of
curiosity what years did mossburg produce this Model?
my reference books don't go back that far. Thank you.[:)]

  Is it a "B" or a "D"?
  
  If it's a "B",then the books I have handy don't show it either.
  
  If it's a "D",then Henry's done beat me to it.[:D]
  
  I'm assuming it's a shotgun.

  I checked in Brownells Encyclopedia and it appears that the Model "B" had a plain bbl. The Model "D" had a removable Select Choke. I would guess the values are the same .MAYBE $75-100 in Excellent condition.

  it is a 83-"B" my book says the 83-D was changed to a
  183-d in 1947 but i can find no reference as to a 83-B
  it is a plain barrel 5 shot .410 with no choke marking.
  it is at my local gun-smiths right now getting a physical
  check up. he said it very old but had on idea as to how old
  it is in very good condition 90% ? Like i said i was just
  curious as to just how old it might be.[?]
