The Rossi 518 is not currently being made. The Blue Book prices don't reflect the current value of this gun. Around this area, the 518 in very good to excellent condition (approx. 98-99%) will bring $225-265. They were a very good gun for the money. Many found them to be a better gun than the Taurus 94 (as well as slightly less money) and close enough to the S&W 63 (for a lot less money) that they bought one of the Rossi 518's instead. They had better sights than the Taurus and almost as good of an action as the Smith. The Taurus is still offered, although many like its 9 shots, to the Rossi's 6 shots, many find the sights on the Taurus to be too small and hard to see as where the Rossi has the nice red ramp front like the S&W. Just for reference, the S&W 63 is no longer available either, that is also part of the reason people are paying more for the Rossi than the book indicates. Supply and demand. 0
