Colt series 70/80

Besides the yrs of mfg, what are the differences between the series 70 and series 80 colt 1911's.

The 70 has a spring finger barrel bushing. The 80 has a solid barrel bushing and an internal firing pen blocking system.

yeah, and that safety feature on the 80's series makes it much more difficult to do a good trigger job. Quality control was also MUCH better on the earlier 70 series guns (70 series were made up into the low-mid 80's). If you are looking for a colt, find a gun made before 77-78 and more than likely it will be a much better manufactured gun than one made later (obviously there will be exceptions, but this is true as a general rule).
