Colt series 70/80
Besides the yrs of mfg, what are the differences between the series 70 and series 80 colt 1911's.

yeah, and that safety feature on the 80's series makes it much more difficult to do a good trigger job. Quality control was also MUCH better on the earlier 70 series guns (70 series were made up into the low-mid 80's). If you are looking for a colt, find a gun made before 77-78 and more than likely it will be a much better manufactured gun than one made later (obviously there will be exceptions, but this is true as a general rule). 0
