I sometimes search his name on the auctions.
There were several of his guns listed here on GB about a year ago. They were being sold either by or for his widow.

Check around the Hereford TX area. He was in the Sheriff Dept. over that way for several years.

Have you tried contacting Bart via Shooters Times? He was a contributing writer there.

Skeeter Skelton was a fine writer. I really miss reading his "Me and Joe" tales and gun articles.

    His books I have.
In fact, the Browning Hi-Power of Skeeter Skeltons that I recently acquired for my collection is addressed in detail on page 246 of the book "Good Friends, Good Guns, Good Whiskey".
Also in his August 1984 "Shooting Times" article.
The S&W Micrometer Rear Sight that he personally had installed on his/my Hi-power is main point of mention as to why "This" was one of "His" favorite "Two" automatics in his collection, in this story (The other a Colt 1911 45).
It is this sight, that had me and Anthony Vanderlinden (Browning FN Pistol expert/author) stumped as to it's origin. UNTIL I put two and two together when I RE-read Skeeter's book.
I used to hunt South Texas in the 70's and had the good fortune to personally meet and visit with Skeeter twice, but even though I enjoyed his stories-my fascination with him has gradually grown.
Bart presently writes for Guns & Ammo and I have emails sent to both "Shooting Times" and "Guns & Ammo" and waiting for replies. (Patience has never been my best virtue).
A picture of the Hi-Power can be seen on the post in General discussion: "Spring Creek-Let's See That New 22 You Built by jsergovic 12-29-03. bambihunter hosted/posted pictures of the 10-22 and 3 pictures of the Skeeter Skelton FN Hi-Power.
