Spectre 9mm assult pistol
I have a Spectre 9mm assult pistol. When I shoot it it cycle a new round but doesn't cock the "hammer" back. I know this thing doesn't work like a regular gun where the hammer stikes the firing pin. It has a separate block behind the firing pin transport block that locks back after a shot and when the trigger is pull it releases the block and that is what strikes the firing pin. It acts like it is not going back far enough to lock the block back so the block follows the firing pin transort block back(are you still following me?), so it stays uncock, but it does go back far enough to advance the next bullit in the mag.
When I pull the slide back by hand it pulls okay until the last inch, about where the block would lock back. The gun had been fired very little prior to me getting it, so I'm sure it's not broke in. But am I wrong in think that it shouldn't take me hand feeding every round until it is broke in? I'm shooting 115 gr rounds through it. Would heavier do the trick? Or maybe I should just hang it on the wall and next to my black velvet Elvis painting and stick with my M-11 it may not be able to hit a Greyhound bus at 10 feet, but least it fire each and every time.

Try some 9mm +p ammo in it, A liberal oiling couldn't hurt either

Richbug probably has it. You might also give it a good cleaning. If not fired much, might still have the packing oil/grease, espec. if former owner had it a while(stiff and dusty oil). Also, you're at my latitude and it might not hurt to oil with Break Free or other teflon lube, as any stiffness of the lube oil in colder climates will slow the bolt thereby cuasing other stuff. 0 -
Try some new ammo. Sounds like yours is underpowered and won't cycle . Very common. Oil it up good. 0 -
The Spectre is designed for the hotter ammo. If the gun hasn't been fired very much it probably needs some hotter ammo to function reliably. As it gets broken in, it may start to be less picky on what you feed it. Although very well made the Spectre's do need something more than the least expensive low powered ammo to get going. Using +P would be one option. Using some NATO spec 124gr. might be safer and cheaper than going right to the +P however. Much of what is out there cheap right now isn't very hot. It is in the lower range of standard.

If the hotter ammo/heavier bullet doesn't cycle it properly - you might check the bottom of the hammer "block". There is a " hammer catch tooth" on the bottom of the hammer that is spring loaded with a "catch tooth plunger" with a small coil spring underneath it. The plunger will develop a "wear sholder" that will prevent the plunger from retracting as the bolt & hammer block recoil/cycle, after firing. You can normally cock the gun manually - because you are applying more force than is left over after firing a weal/light round. It is easy to "rig" a fix by rotating the plunger 180 degrees, presenting a new wear surface. Repair parts for these are very rare but I have a few items, including the plunger, disconnector, extractor,etc. Let me know if you need a new plunger. 0 -
