Is A Sako 75 Hunter a better Rife than a Weatherby Mark v made in Germany?

  I prefer the Sako,but they are both good guns.Sakos (in my experience are generally more accurate on average.-- F.Y.I.= One thing to watch for is that some of the German made weatherbys had the wrong barrel twist. Most of the 300 magnums had a 1-12" twist which is designed for bullet weights up to about 170 grains.This means some guns will not stabilize 180 grain and heavier bullets which ruins what the 300 mag. was designed for............[8D]

  Go to your local gunshop & handle both. Then work the bolts. My guess is that you'll choose the Sako.

  I've never owned a Weatherby, but the 3 Sako's I have are excelent shooters as well as easy to carry and handle....my vote is Sako. You won't be sorry.

  Go with the Sako, you will not be sorry. I've shot several Weatherbys over the years and none have impressed me...other than the price!!!

  I believe that both are superb firearms. They both have great feel,
  both look great and both can bring about a great arguement. I agree
  with the person suggested that you handle them both side by side. I
  do think however that if you judge them by the smoothness of the
  actions, they will be very close. I personally prefer the Weatherby
  because of bolt strength and safety. To me that is the most important
  measure. If you are a handloader, and like to push it, you should
  consider the Weatherby. - Southern Reb
