Mini 14 accuracy enhancements
I own two minis and I do realize they are not the most accurate .223, but I like them, and they're a blast to shoot. I am thinking of putting a barrel stabilizer from Clark Customs on one of them. Has anyone used one of these, and does it work as well as they claim? Also, has anyone used the recoil buffer from Buffer Technologies? It is suppose to eliminate the operating rod contact with the receiver. I would like some first hand experience before I spend my money. Any comments? Mark

MARKSZ71...Someone posted an article that a smith from Ruger wrote about the mini-14 accuracy problems. I think it was over on gen. disc. but i can't find it now. Worth looking for though! 0 -
Easiest way to improve the accuracy: take the 223 round out of the Mini put it in an AR, fire, repeat. Groups really nice that way[:D]

I don't have a "mini", but if I did I would try it.0 -
I have one with a buffer, It work's well, but it had one on it when I got it so it don't know what it shot like with out one. It also has a flash hider, I don't know if that would effect recoil any, but I've never had any problems with the buffer and it looks very easy to install. I think the weakest part of the gun's accuracy are the sites, maybe the new one are better? Mine was made in early 90,s. If I was building my to be more accurate I think I start there. Maybe a scope mount from B-square and a good scope or a cheap scope (anything would be better than the factory sites). 0
