Ruger P97DC??

I just got one for a great deal. Is there anything I should know about this pistol before I shoot it??? I know how to handle them but is there any flaws or tips I should know?

    No flaws or anything special or out of the ordinary that I can think of. Ive had a p90 for quite awhile and have shot all kinds of ammo and its never had a failure to feed or fire. Always ejects to. In my opinion its just one of those guns you never have to worry about. Hogue grips do seem to aid in the accuracy of the gun. Im pretty sure they make a slip on for the p97.

    I had a P-97 and it shot good and fit my hand perfect but it had problems ejecting Sellier & Belliot 230 grain FMJ and big problems ejecting and feeding Remington-UMC 230 grain FMJ.Bad enough to where I got rid of it.It fed and ejected Federal 230 grain Hydra-Shoks and Winchester 180 grain Silver Tips the best.It was very accurate though it even sent the one flyer from every magazine full to the same place on the target,about 3" low and ! inch to the right,for the flyers but all else were 9 and 10 ring and recoil was strangely controllable,it kicked about like a small 9mm.Just to clear it up though,I got rid of it because it wouldnt feed or eject the cheaper FMJ rounds and .45 ammo is exspensive enough without me having to pay up to $19.99 per box of hydra-shoks just so I can go practice shooting.If I never planned on practicing I would have kept it because it did feed the best(230 hydra-shoks) for defense.But practice makes perfect.

    A super gun for the money. Never had any trouble with mine, and I shot cast reloads out of it alot. On the big side, but accurate and reliable.
