Ammo and the S&W Mdl. 60, 357Mag.

Just bought a S&W Model 60 SS 2 inch bbl. I wonder if anyone has tested out the 110 grain 357 (Win) in that weapon. Or perhaps have a suggestion as to what ammo seems to work best in that 2" for carry.

  The best ammo for carry is either the MagSafe or Glaser Safety Slugs, aside from those two choices, any 125 grain JHP will do the job, my preference is the Rem Golden Saber or Winchester 145 grain Silvertip.

  I use the 110's in my Ruger SP101 which is similar in size. Good load with less recoil than the 125 or 145 grain bullet loads. It is however less powerful. For me it's a good trade-off.

  I'm partial to 125 gr Golden Saber. But, in today's marketplace there are many fine defensive loads between 110 and 125 gr. Try a few different ones, note the difference in point of aim/impact and go with what feels best to you. You have to practice to be profecient and with a small handgun you just don't need "mega blasters".

  Uhhh, did they recently start making the model 60 in .357? Every one I've seen is a .38 special (course I haven't been to a gun show/gun shop in 5 years)...

  Yes wm been making it in 357 for at least a yr now, i have a lod mod in 38, kinda wish i had waited to find one in 357.

  I keep 125 grain CCI-Speer Gold Dots in my .357 and have had good accuracy with them.
