Very unusual. They have 38 short colt blank cartridges that are pressed in. Short Colt has been obsolete before the war. Rim measurements dia.626. Thickness .103. Overall Length 1.005. Base diameter .500.

I have a slide action Savage .22 cal rifle it has a octagon barrel, a seven shot magazine, no checkering. The markings on the rifle are as follows a pat. date of 1903 and 64.180 on the grip frame. It does not match the discription the Blue book gives of a 1903 (oct. barrel) but it does have the pistol grip stock. 0 -

I believe You have a Model 1903..Clip Fed, Pump Action, Hammerless..The Clip Slides into a Milled Slot on the Front of the Trigger Guard....There were several Models of 1903 made...There was the Plain Jane Model 1903 You discribe, and in Good Condition...Worth $250.00.
Then came the Model 1903-EF with Fancy Wood and Engraved...In Good Condition Worth...$625.00...and the Model 1903-Expert with Checkered Stock and Light Engraving...Worth $325.00 in Good condition...They were a decent Little Rifle...I had one I carried for Years as a Teenager...Magazine's are a hard to find....and expensive when you finally locate one....So be nice to the one You have...
