500 S&W vs. 500 Linebaugh

From what I've read, the 500 S&W is much more powerfull than the 500 Linebaugh but how does its balistics and knock down rating compare to the 475 Linebaugh?

  The 475 Linebaugh isn't that much more than the 480 Ruger. They are both made from the 45-70 case with the 480 Ruger being 1.285" and the 475 Linebaugh at 1.390" So it would stand to reason that the 500 S&W will out perform it.

  Goto Smith and Wessons web site and they will show you.The 500 is a beast and is far more superior than the other.I bought one just for that reason.Just my 2 cents.

  The 500 S&W is a lot more the Linebaugh, but that is only because you are really comparing apples and oranges. The S&W is longer that is why they made the new frame. The Linebaugh Longs are the one that compare with the S&W. I do beleive I remember on the L.L.'s the 475 penatrated better. The only gun the L.L.'s were built on were the Ruger 357 Maximum frames.
