I bought a brick of federal 22 (550) today for 13.47 at Walmart and could have bought many more. Maybe the hoarders are getting their fill and things are getting back to normal.

I would use CCI Stingers or CCI Mini Mags in the Walther. Whatever you decide to use, make sure you run a few boxes thru the pistol to make sure they feed reliably!

I agree with Chris8161...use the CCI 'Mini-mags'. They are the highest velocity (except the new 'Velocitors') 36 (hollow points) or 40 grain 22LR on the market. They are a little more expensive than others but I have never fired more accurate, consistent non-match 22LR and I have NEVER had a failure to ignite.

I have a TPH also. I have been using CCI Stingers in it and am quite happy with their performance. I was able to shoot a couple of rabbits with it and while the effect wasn't the same as shooting them out of my rifle, both rabbits were still dead.

Try a box of Aguila Super SE; I always carry an Iver Johnson TP22 which is an almost exact copy of the TPH, but costs $200 less, and they feed, shoot and eject every time. Awesome performance on rabbit, badger & skunks!

Try a box of the Aguila Hyper Velocity, a 30 grain bullet that supposedly gets to 1750 fps (probably out of a rifle barrel). See if it will feed reliably in your pistol. You might be lucky to get 1400 fps out of a short pistol barrel, but it's still faster than most brands.

    Best regards,Rich
