replacing barrel

i have a taurus pt 92 9mm, the manual says 124 grain is the biggest i can use, could i replace the barrel with a beretta 92 so i can use 147 grain?

  1. Similar though they are, I doubt a Beretta barrel will drop in your Taurus.
  
  2. The rifling twist may be optimized, and the sights may be regulated, for 124 grain bullets.
  
  3. Your barrel will handle any 9mm bullet you can put down it. If the manual says to not use +P or +P+ ammo, then by all means use such ammo only sparingly.
  
  4. Shoot it till it breaks, then get another one.
