Colt Buntline 45LC w/13"barrel

I've a Colt .45LC rev. it has a 13" Barrel Pat dates are Sep.18 1871,Jul 2,72 and Jan 19,75 Would like to know history and value
,ser#306813 ,Ialso have photo's, grips are ivory or pearl and there are no markings on barrel ,my email daddytwo13@aol.com

    one of my books show then as a 12inch barrel ,made from 1957 thru 1974 with a total run of 3,900 ,, 65 of them where Nickel finish, walnut grips where most common but they where also offered with checkered hard rubber grips, . the barrels should be marked on the left side Colt Buntline Special .45, values are NIB $1750, exc. $1250, v.g. $950, good $600, fair $400 poor $350 add 60% to these if your is one of the nickel finished ones , my book does not show the ser number range so can't say what the year of mfg is ,,,, these are book values what a real world value would be I don't have any idea

    My Colt book shows that serial number to have been made in 1908.

    History is going to have to come From Colt...and other sources unknown to Me.. Colt will charge $135.00 for this Service..{I believe this is the currant Fee for this Service}..As for the Long Barrel here's a little history direct from Wilsons Book on Colt..
    Made 1873-1940, 1956 to date.
    Calibers: from .22 to .476 Eley..30 different Calibers recorded.
    Serial Numbers: From 1 to 357859 (prewar) and 1SA on up (postwar)..
    BARREL LENGTHS: From 4 3/4" to 16 1/8" with ejectors and from 2" to 7 1/2" without.
    BARREL and Frame markings:vary, but the former usually list the Colt Name and address, and Caliber. While the Latter notes the patent dates of september 19th 1871, July 2, 1872, and January 19, 1874.
    All the original Buntlines were within the Serial numbers 28800 to 28830 had Flattop Frames grooved for adjustable folding rear sights, and had Barrel lengths from 10" to 16" {most were 16"}..Colt announced these arms at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition, but No more than the first batch were made, until the Postwar Pistols of the 60's and 70's...
    Your Colt # 306813 was Produced in 1908...Serial Numbers for 1908 ran from 304000 to 307999..
    I personally believe your Colt had the Barrel replaced somewhere in its History...Value is actually a Moot Point..Until its History... if any...and a Factory Letter is obtained outlining what the factory knows...and its current Condition..?????

    I believe the Capt. to be correct as to the barrel replacement. I have owned a long barrel S/A Colt that was rebarreled and had drift adjustable rear and screw adjustable front sights by Kings Gun Works, beautiful work and a great shooter, yours may have been so altered.

    daddytwo13: recieved the Photo this morning via direct email...YOU HAVE A BISLEY COLT WITH MOTHER OF PEARL GRIPS...! Now if its an original Bisley or a MADE UP Bisley is a whole new story? The barrel is deffinately not original to the Pistol..The Front Sight looks to be a Sweated On Band Sight similer to a Rifle sight..It would be nice to see this PIECE in Person for a better evaluation..I'd further reccomend that You contact Judge Colt for further analisis..Colts are his Forte' and I'm sure he can offer further assistance...If I see Him on the Forums I'll drop Him off a Wee Note and ask Him to contact You directly...Best.....
