Whats a decent price for a concealed carry class? I want to give the class to someone as a present but don't want to get ripped off.

That's sounds like a good solution. Hopefully, your gun cannot be fired while in the holster, as that would be a federal violation.

nmyers, please explain the Fed reg. you stated about firing a weapon from a holster. Wasn't aware of that. Have carry permit from Ind. don't want to "shoot myself in the foot" so to speak, if the "need arises".

If I am not mistaken, that is what stopped the production of the Hi Standard 22 Derringer wallet holster.

tyhe Federal issue involved here involves the concept that the wallet holster becomes the frame of the gun, since you are now holding the holster in order to fire the pistol. Screwy, but that is what is written. It only pertains to those holsters that are specifically made to contain the pistol, have a cutout for the trigger, and permit firing the pistol while fully enclosed in the holster. If you permanently cover the trigger cutout hole in a H/S derringer holster so that the pistol must be removed to fire, the holster is no longer illegal under Federal law.

    J2k2 is correct.

    From FFL Newsletter, August 1997:

"In order for an individual to lawfully 'make' a wallet gun, that is to say, acquire both handgun and the wallet holster, the person must first submit an Application to Make and Register a Firearm (ATF Form 1), pay a $200.00 making tax, and receive approval of the application. The seria number appearing on the handgun should be used to register the firearm. Transfer of a wallet gun requires an approved transfer application and payment of a $5 transfer tax. A transfer will not be approved unless the wallet gun has been registered to the transferor."
