Best Scope for Mini 14?

Hello all,
I have a Ruger Mini 14 with the original wood stock and also a Butler Creek folding stock. I also have a very nice leupold scope I had originally planned to put on but am reconsidering. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best scope? I plan on using both stocks depending on mood and plan on doing short and long range shooting. I have heard good things about some of the red dot scopes but not sure how good they are for 150-200 yards? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

    well a low power scope would be good out to 100 yards and most minis cant shoot very accurately after that. if you have an accurate one, id say a 9X scope would be good. try the leupold and see how it works

    Watch your diameter. I bought a large scope cause it was cheap. Rubs on the handguard, though, so now I have no scope. The little ring atop your handguard can be a real PITA.

    Not to mention that that type of rolling block action is famous for beating scopes to death. I would use a holosight. After mine crapped out a scope, I gave up.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    Someone has come out with a good scope that is the forward mount type for Mini 14s and 30s. It screws right in through your front handguard fittings with the proper hardware provided and provides a long relief and very stable, consistent zero. I will have to hunt it down in my library of links.

    I posted the silver model, but they also have the blued model rings and scope if your Mini is not stainless.

    The first item, the mount, only comes in black, but would look great on either gun.

    Note: The report is that using this mount and tightening the four gasblock screws into it at 16 ftlbs of torque actually tightens groups (accurizes the rifle).

    I have a older Leupold scout scope on one of my Savage bolt action rifle and it works great, I would think this new one would be a winner also , check around for better price , I've seen them as low as 200 on sell
