Yo, Captain Kirk and other Spanish semi nutz
Hello from screwed up FLA>, [8D]
OK....I had fun with my other Spanish pistol.....now here's another that my Son owns. Jimmy is my pride and joy! A Staff Sgt. in the Air National Guard and back home after almost a year in Afganistan!! Jimmy has a bring home from his Grand Dad from WWII. Here's what Jimmy writes about his boat anchor: "Wow! Extremely close! Mine says:
Elustondo, Urtiaga Y Ca
Fabrica de Armas
Guernica (Vizcaya)
Numbers are in no special order, just kinda all over the lower receiver
on the left side:
333 (right where trigger housing starts on the front)
1860 (looks like the serial number)
S (just above next number)
751 (along the back of the trigger housing)
There's a circled TM on the trigger guard
A stamp of a small crown on the lower trigger guard right where the
pistol grip starts
A circled EL on the back of the weapon, left side, and a small, upside
down circled LD under it
And on the bottom of the mag is a circled AA"

Its a RUBY....One of the many Cottage Gun Makers Masterpieces...
Vuzcaya [not vizcaya] was one of the many regions that made Pistols and Revolvers, starting from the early 1900's...Guernica was the Small Town which is located on the Bay of Biscay North of Madrid. Looking thru Gene Gangarosa's Spanish Handguns I find No Makers matching Elustondo, Urtiaga y Cie....Thats not to say that theres No such person....Its possible that this particular Facility was Bombed out of existance early on....The German Luftwaffe used quite a few Ruby Pistols because of the availabilty while stationed there...Many Pistols were repatriated from members of the famed Condor Legion as battle Field Trophys.....Page 121 of Gangarosa's of Spanish Handguns gives quite a history on the Area and the Luftwaffe....You might consider purchasing a copy or Borrowing a copy from your local Libruary....Quite informative...........
