Turkish Shot Gun
I have a turkish shot gun. It has the name Merkez on it. When I bought it I was told it was hand crafted, if that were true. It is an over/under dual triger. The stock is hand caved and the metal work around the trigger guard is engraved. The warranty paper work shows Merkez Av Sanayi Ve Tic.Ltd. Also shows Av Tufekleri and under that is Under Hunting Shot Guns. Is there any where I can get a value on this gun.
Thanks for any information

Sorry if people have not replied. I can't give a specific answer but I do have a Turk O/U shotgun by Sarcilmaz. That's another make nobody outside Turkey ever heard of. It is a simple gun with two triggers, extractors, fixed chokes, etc. Pretty much the same description as you gave. I'm impressed by the beautiful walnut stockand obvious care in fit and finish, considering the price was less than $300 about 3 years ago. I have watched what little I could find on the Turk shotguns and they seem to have a fair rep on the average, some better than others. Mine shows much more care in workmanship than a Russian O/U I bought for around the same price. Yours may be a bit better than my Turk, more decor, etc and be worth more. Hope this helps. 0 -
As rhmc24 implies, Turkish shotguns have a rather spotty rep. Some are surprisingly good and some are, well, less admired. Because there have not been substantial numbers of many makes they are not well known here and that affects interest in them, which naturally affects price. Most that have been sold here have been economy models at modest prices. The neighborhood of $300 is probably about right, which is not to say it would not bring substantially more in Turkey or perhaps Europe. 0
