Gunsmithing?

I am interested in any Gunsmithing Schools in the Southern Cali. area and would greatly appreciate someone's input. Anyone in the area looking for an apprentice? Any input here is needed, thanks.

  I'm trying to find any good reputable gunsmithing courses in Southern Cali......Any good tips? I'm possibly interested in a gunsmithing career and would appreciate any input...Thanks

  Unless you are willing to travel I don't know of any comprehensive courses in S. Cal. There are a variety of NRA sponsored courses offered throughout the country that usually last from a couple of days to a couple of weeks but these courses specialize on a specific topic.

  If you check the back of Brownells catalog, they have a complete list of all the gunsmith schools in the country.
  
  Last year I talked to a recent gunsmith school graduate who painted a bleak picture of the opportunities open to his classmates. A couple were able to get jobs in the industry, most were still looking or doing something else. If you are a skilled machinist, you may have a chance; these are the guys who will be at the top of the list for the few openings in this field.
