Weatherby Low or Medium Rings?

I had a one-piece Weaver mount that was supposed to fit the Vanguard also, but it just won't screw all the way down. Consequently, I figure I'll just go on and order the Weatherby Mounting System (ring/mount combo). I will be putting a 4.5-14 X 40 scope on the rifle. Does anyone know if this will work with the Low rings, or should I get the Medium? Thanks.

  What is the brand of scope? not that it really matters, on my Win Model 70's using a Leupold with a 40mm objective I am able to use low rings, however on my buddies Savage and a Burris with 42mm objective we had to go with high rings. Go figure.
  You may try the Leupold website and check their mount and ring calculator it will tell you right off. ( if using Leupold, but all should me similar ).

  I have the same scope on my 25-06 interarms action with ackley barrel, it works just fine, but not much extra clearance. depends on barrel contour. take it to the nearest gun shop and they will help you! Jason Jennings Hunt Prep Shooting Systems

  I would thing the low would work. I have the Weatherby TRR with the Weatherby base and ring system. I use the med. with a Leupold 30mm 4.5-14X50. Plus the TRR is a heavy barrel rifle.
