Peep sight question

BOBBYWINS
Last Sunday,I was givin' my truck it's annual inside clean-up.You wouldn't believe all the stuff I found under and behind the seat that I had forgotten I had.[:I]

Anyway,I found a Redfield peep sight that I have no clue what it fits,or for that matter where I even got it from.[:(]

No numbers on it,so my question is,is there a web sight where I may be able to identify this thing,or am I just gonna have to carry it with me and try it out on every gun I come across to figure it out??

    Easy solution: send it to me and I will tell you what I put it on.

    Actually, the only thing I can think of is to try Stroebels Old Rifle Sights book, and if it is not old or long in production, that probably will not work.

    Hello Bobbywins,

    To the best of my knowledge, all of the Redfield receiver sights have an application code on them. You may need to remove the elevation section of the sight to see the code.

    Actually,I had the elevation section out last night to give it a good cleanin' and looked it all over,several times,with three different pairs of glasses,but couldn't find a thing.

    Time for the magnifyin' glass maybe?

    Update... OK, you might not be as blind as you thought you were[;)][:D].

    According to Nick Strobel;

    "Application codes are frequently absent on Redfield and Western receiver peep sights. When present, they are stamped on the elevation slide, the back of the mounting block on the surface that faces the receiver, or on the mounting block inside the elevation slide cutout. Most are unmarked as to application and model. Shipping boxes were marked for the model, application and special features." end quote

    What this means, is that you had better find the freakin box it came in[:0][:D]

    Don't have the box,never had the box,ain't never gonna have the freakin' box.[:(]

    It was in a small "Zip-Lock" bag and I haven't got a clue where it came from.

    The only mark I have found on it is an "L" on the underside of somethin'(don't remember now,been a long day),which I would assume means "Left".

    Well,hell,guess I'll just have to have it my pocket whenever I'm out and about lookin' at guns and maybe I'll find what it fits.

    Maybe you could talk to someone at Redfield - Maybe someone will tell you where to send the peepsight or pictures of same on a cd for their inspection. Good luck
