Knights Templar Masonic Dress Sword
I just came into pocession of a Knights Templar Masonic `York Rite`dress sword from the early 30s or OLDER. It has real Ivory handle and scrimshawed. The scabard is very decorative brass over silver, with enamel red crosses on the brass. the sword itself is chromium or silver plate and ingraved heavily on both sides with religious scenes and knights, with the owners name inscribed on the blade---H. Louis Bonta---the end of the handle has a brass knights helmet.Both units are in excellant condition. It was made by Pettibone Bros.MFG Co. Cinncinati, Ohio. At first I thought it was a KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS dress sword, but later I was told it was a Knight Templar Masonic Dress Sword. I would appreciate any further info and possibly an approx. Value. Monetary value? Probably zero.
Sentimental value? Priceless.
Honestly, the only people who would have a use for it are Knights, and they don't really need it. I'd recommend offering it to the Grand Lodge in your state. But then again, that's just me.

I, being a York Rite Mason, would be interested in looking at some pictures if you could post some. As to value, not a lot. They are manufactured for dress only, not very much in the way of presious metal.
