red dot for rifle and pistol scope

I have a 16" contender barrel with muzzle tamer in 45-70 cal. I wonder how wella red dot scope would work and if it would work in long eye relief also for pistol?

  Hello one of the great things about red dot scopes is they work for long eye relief and still give full field of view. My suggestion is to get an ULTRA-DOT from larry's guns I would get the one with adjustable dot size and pick the dot size that best meets the type of shooting you are doing . I use mine as a sort of range finder. 8 minute dot fully inside the body of a deer chest then I know he is close enough for a very good chance of a good hit. but 2 minute dot I use for squirrels head shots.I am not useing 45/70 but you get the idea.Cheers Karl

  If you wear glasses the red dot is for you,I agree with perry shooter, get adjuustable dot.My first experence with a red dot on 12 ga shotgun, hit a running coyote at 75 yards.I was having trouble with open sights since having to wear glasses.Now I havent missed a shot in two deer seasons.
