Leica Shines Great Recommendation
Hunted antelope in Montana last week. A foot of snow, and then several days of rain and fog. We ranged a herd at 876 yards in pouring rain with my Leica 900. Our other range finder a new $300.00 Bushnell wasn't picking up the hill side they were standing on. We pulled into a hay field ranged again at 650 yards, still nothing from the Bushnell. We watched as the lead doe marched the herd down the ridge. I attempted to range again with the Bushnell it finally picked up a 1600 pound round bale in the hay field at 60 yards. The Leica drenched in rain picked up single goats at 650, 500, and 450 yards. 20 minutes later the doe had led the herd down the edge of the hay field . . . again the Leica picked up the individual goats at 206 yards in what was now drizzle and fog. We had left the Bushnell in the truck at this point. We eased a pair of rifles over the truck hood and dumped two goats filling our doe tags. Our other party missed shots at a second herd that day trying to range with their Nikon range finder that wouldn't function in the rain and fog. When I asked this forum what to buy there was discussion about all three of our now field tested range finders. My other partners now wish they had spent the extra $100.00 and up graded. The Bushnell and the Nikon did work later in the week but were seldom used. Thanks for the advice!

It's been said before and I think it bears repeating;
"You get what you pay for".
