browning 2000 silly question

Hi all, I have a Browing 2000 that belonged to my late husband and I took it out and pulled back the bolt to make sure it wasn't loaded and now I can't release it. OOps

  look on the bottom of the gun on the carrier flap. there is a rod, button, latch, whatever you want to call it. see it? pull it back or push it forward...it will go 'clink!!' now, release the bolt normally.
