Bauer 25 Automatic breakdown...

Hello guys. I just got this thing, and it was used when i got it. I need to clean it before i shoot it. How do I take this thing apart? Thanks

Lock the slide back. Turn the barrel 90 degrees. Pull it forward. Turn the barrel back 90 degrees. Pull the barrel out. Ease the slide forward.

Never, ever, remove the grips.

The Bauer is a late 1960's copy of the Browning .25 in stainless steel. I can think of no reason not to remove the grips. Just remember that the thru-bolt holding the grips also holds the magazine disconnector against spring tension which is imprtant for also operating the magazine catch. I always threw away the mag disconnector and replaced it with a short piece of aluminum. Or you can cut off the top half of the disconnector above the thru-bolt. My experience is that the gun will jam with one in the chamber and 6 in the magazine, but works OK with 5 in the magazine.

i cant get the barrel to rotate 90 degrees. which way, counterclockwise, or clockwise? and the slide only locks about a half inch back..

My mistake; too many similar guns.

Pull slide back until forward nose of safety can be pressed up into front notch of slide, holding slide to rear. Turn barrel 1/3 turn clockwise to unlock it from the receiver. Push down on safety & pull slide forward off the receiver.
