Thanks Bert and CJ7 for the info. It appears that someone has hacked her off. All measurements are incorrect and you can see where the magazine retaining ring was around the magazine at one time. Whoever did the work did do a nice job though. Again Thanks Steve

  As usual Bert H gave excellent sound Winchester advice. Another item just FYI is that ALMOST all true short rifles have forearms that are 8 3/8" long rather than the standard length of 9 3/8".
