Date of Marlin 1893

Need date of Marlin 1893 Serial # D 3525. Value also. 20" barrel 32/40 cal. No case color left on receiver. barrel about 80% blue. Wood real decent, no cracks or gouges. Thanks

    My references shows the 20 inch as the carbine, but not being made in that caliber. Sooooo- one of three things- you have a factory special order, you have a rifle that has been shortened, or my reference is wrong. carbine in VG condition is about $850-900, rifle about $800. Made 1893-1936. Sounds like yours may be from first coupla years. Designation changed to Model 93 in 1915 or thereabouts. Hopefully someone else can give you more info.
