need help id old 6.5 cal military rifle

northern militia
my friend showed me a very old military rifle but what is it? on the barrel it has 6.5 cal/gardonevt/sg2856. and on the stock by the but is has fag 42 and sg 2856. it has a pig stickerand a detach mag and sling mounts like a m1,anybody have a clue? thanks haig

    Based on what you've said, especially the word "gardon", it does sound like it is a Carcano rifle. However, there were several models of Carcano and none of them used a "detach mag," instead most of them used stripper clips. Go to GB and do a search for Carcano to see if that's what you have. You will also run unto some stripper clips for it. Best of luck -- Steve
