  sorry big typo is IMR-3031 a fast medum or slow burning powerder i want to know because i just bought a AR in 308 and i wnat to know if i can use 3031 in it

  Yes you can if you're looking to use up what you have but other powders can give you higher velocities.

  IMR 3031 is a relatively fast burning powder best suited for the .45-70 and .444 IMO. I have used it to reload 30-06 and the accuracy was not real good. A better powder for the .308 would be 4350 or 4381. The 3031 will work, but my experiences have shown less accuracy in bottleneck cases while using the 3031.

  3031 is a good powder for .308, I use about 41-42 grs for a GI equivalent load for 150 gr bullets, it is best for bullets of this weight range. A slower powder would work best for 165 gr and heaver bullets.
