remington 1100 shotgun

Is it true that by changing out the barrel on an old style 1100 that shoots 1 and 3/4 inch shells, that you can use 3' shells?

I have a 1100 20ga. The barrel isn't in the best shape. I would like to know if i can change the 20ga and replace it with a 12ga barrel?

Sorry. You can use several different 20 gauge barrels, but to use a 12 gauge, you'll have to have a 12 gauge receiver. In other words, NO.

he may be thinking that he has an old 20 built on the 12ga frame. even if it was, the answer is still no since trigger groups, carriers, and shell mag tubes will be an issue.
