Value and date of manufacture Winchester 1200?

Looking for value of Winchester 1200 20 Gauge, no vent rib, fixed modified choke, checkered walnut stock, 100% condition. Also would like to know approx date of manufacture, serial 362494.

    Sorry but you will have to wait for Bert H. to give you a date of manufacture. He has the only correct date of manufacture list for Winchesters.

    Hello Chris,

    The Model 1200 is not a high-dollar gun. Even in top condition, you would being doing real well to get more than $200 for it. As for when it was made, I recommend that you call Winchester for that information. The Model 1200 was in production from 1964 - 1980, and Winchester has the records for all of the modern manufactured guns (my guess is that it was made in the late 60's though).

    As for snickers claim that I have the only correct date of manufacture list for Winchester firearms, that is pure hogwash. It is the Cody Firearms Museum and the current Winchester company that have those ledgers/lists... I just very frequently avail myself of those resources (it helps tremendously that I am a long time menber of the Cody Firearms Museum).

    If by chance you are looking for advice....I would rid myself of that THING while it still functions and put what you get out of it towards a decent shotgun..It was a VERY poor excuse for a shotgun when new and each time it is fired shortens it useful life..

    Chris, if you're interested, I think I know where there's a 26"bbl with a set of Winchokes and wrench for $125 if he still has it.

    I am going to try and sell it while it is still in new condition. I should have bought the Remington Wingmaster 20 gauge that I saw at the same time I bought the Winchester! It was only $25 more, but sometimes I can be a real dope!
