Opinions and price on Browning A bolt w/boss

Looking at a very nice 300 wm Browning A bolt w/boss , has a Leupold Vari X II in 9X12X40 with Leupold base and rings , also flip ups . Don't think it comes with box or papers though .

Price is at $700 . I'm thinking hard but looking more like I'll be a player .

There is also a Remington 700 BDL in 30-06 , pretty clean with nice leather sling but at $450 I think the Browning will be a better deal . Also at $450 I feel that the price is rather strong/too high .

Will use from deer to elk , maybe moose . The 300 wm is I know better suited for large game .

At $700 I'm thinking the A bolt may be a good deal .

Your ideas and thoughts are as always welcomed .

    Your looking at 300.00 to 325.00 for the scope used, and another 50.00 to 75.00 if it has Leupold rings, I myself would go for the browning

    Make sure you get the wrench with the boss,I've shot rifles with the boss on them and all of them became one holers with an adjustment of the tube,go for it,just my .02

    Browning A-bolts are good rifles.

    On a side note though, .30-06 is more than adequate to take any of the game you listed.

    I have the Browning A-Bolt in 22-250 with BOSS. I did not realize the BOSS was so loud. Other than that, it is a really fine rifle. Don

    Browning, Browning, Browning. I believe the Browning is actually a better rifle. I have several, with and without Boss, and they all shot far better than 1" with virtually any round. I especially like the shorter bolt throw. By the way I have had several Remington rifles and they are good but I perfer the Browning.
