How to identify a 1911 45 acp Colt factory barrel

I have a .45 barrel that I pulled from an old 1911A1 Colt (not a military gun)years ago. How can I tell if this barrel is actually a factory Colt barrel or if it was a replacement? The only markings on the barrel are on the left side towards the bottom of the chamber it says 45 AUTO. Thanks for your input.

  It's probably safe to assume that if it isn't stamped "COLT .45 AUTO", then it wasn't made by Colt. Especially if it isn't blue.
  
  And if your old Colt isn't a military gun, then it's probably a Colt Government model, not a 1911A1.

  Hello if you give us the complete serial includeing any letters we can tell you what should be marked on the correct barrel, this was changed many times. If you don't want to give serial just put a X in the next to last digit just make sure you have the right number of letters and numbers."PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN"
