another gun identification
ok a few days ago i was watching my favorite channel . .. .. .. ..the history channel. there was a program on about the pacific theater of WWII. in on seen there is a marine carrying what appears to be a shortened M1 carbine.
recently i came accross a GI Joe gun that bears a strikng similarity to the firearm in question.
the gn at the top is the one in question. anyone have any idea what it is?

i personaly do not beleive that you need to carry an anti tank rifle for personal protection.

heard of a reising before . . . beleive the post office purchased alot of them in the 30's
were these SMG's issued to the troops or could it have somehow been a personaly altered M1 or even a gift mailed from home

i beleive that i did see a reising there is one listed on another sight
looks kida chunky for a combat weapon but hell when in need . . .

Mostly looks like an M1 Carbine with a cut off barrel.
The Reising had a narrow straight magazine.0 -
It's not a Reising SMG. It looks like seriously modified M-1 Carbine.

IMO, it's a M1 Carbine with a cut off barrel.
The stock has the cut out for the oiler and the magazine appears to be the right scale for a .30 Carbine, 30 rounder.
A .45 mag would be about half the width.0
