Mossberg 183T Magazine Problem
I bought a bolt action .410 Mossberg Model 183T today to clean up and give to a grandchild. Everything works fine except that the shells won't stay down inside the blind magazine. I've checked to see that everything is there and installed correctly. Could it be that todays plastic shotgun shells, being made of plastic and ribbed(Remington brand) are slightly too small and slick to stay down under the rail, or is it something else? Thanks for any help solving this problem.

Thats how mine worked, the only thing holding in the shells in is the top of the receiver. 3" shells worked better in mine, but 2.5" one worked if you didn't handle it roughly with the bolt open.

Thanks for your replies! I tried mine as you suggested and it works. Not the best system I've ever seen, but if I only load one shell in the magazine after I put one in the chamber, it's not a bad 2 shooter. I was going crazy trying to figure how it should work. Thanks to this forum my sanity is saved.......some of it anyway. 0
