Mashburn 219 Zipper?
Just picked up a Mauser barrelled in 219 Zipper. It sits in a nice Manlincher type stock with a Weaver V9 scope in a Beauler mount. The bluing is a little off, the story being the gun store had a fire and this was water damaged. I guess the steam mottled some of the bluing but the rifle is sound.
I took it out of the stock for a cleaning and noticed a Mashburn Arms adjustable trigger. The bolt handle is also beautifully turned to accomodate the scope, clearing it by a fraction of an inch. That's when I realized this was not just some basement project rifle.
Could this be an actual Mashburn rifle or would it be more likely to have been put together with Mashburn parts? Is there any way to tell?
Truthfully, I bought it to rebarrel anyway. I was just wondering if I'd be destroying something special.

This sounds like a nice find whether or not it turns out to have any greater value than as a nice rifle.
I suggest that you call the shop that made the rifle:

They may or may not be able to help other than to point you to someone else, but anything is worth a try when you don't have something to start with in the beginning.

Mashburn was best known as a wildcatter. It is more likely if he built it he would have chambered it for a cartrige he designed. 0
