Good deal on remington 700 adl and scope?

He has a Remington 700 ADL 30-06, with a Weaver 3x9 rangefinder scope and hard case.. The rifle hasn't had more than about 100 rounds through it.. Asking $400. I talked to him on the phone briefly he said that the scope has the deal where you look at the deer through the scope and compare it to the lines in it - then you can adjust a knob on top of the sight to where it is supposed to go. Possibly mil-dot with the M1 knob on top of the scope? He said he bought the rifle in 82' or 83' and the scope some time after that. He said the rifle is in excellent condition, no significant dents of scratches, wood stock. I just wanted to see what you guys thought, I want another deer rifle so my girlfriend can hunt with me, she can use my 7mm-08. What should I offer him? Not to big of a deal if I don't get it. Thanks

    Where I am you could get it for $300-$325, considering the Weaver a replace item. I would certainly not go over $350, it you consider the scope and case to be of value to you.

    I expect to have $300-$350 in a donor rem700 action, so if you could get the whole rig for $350 or even $375, I think you have done well.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    and where were you when i sold my bdl for $230? missed a great deal there justc.......travis hallam got a great deal....

    I'm not an expert, but i did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

    I bought an ADL a couple of months ago on this auction site that had never even been fired and it was equipped with a 3x9 Swift scope for $300.00.
    I was lucky imho because i was the only one who bid on it so i got away with the minimum bid price.
    I say 3-350.00

    dangit bperdue21, where was I when you did that[:(] I'll take any rem700 receiver and bottom metal for $275 every day of the week.[:p]
