How much or any information about this gun

wildcats
I have a 22 pistol stainless made in the USA. The only name i can get off it is AMT/Lighting. It holds a 10 shot clip made in Covina Ca. Any information on this gun let me know.

    Does it look like these? If so made by AMT Acadia Machine Tool in Covina,Calif.They were a stainless steel copy of the Ruger Mark target pistol with improvements.Great .22 target pistols.[^]

    AMT Lightning - Single action, semiauto .22 cal pistol. Avail with barrel lengths of 5" (bull only) 6.5", 8.5", 10.5" and 12.5" (either bull or tapered), and adjustable sights, as well as trigger. Black rubber grips. Made between 1984-87.

    2002 value was $250 in exc., $200 in VG, $175 in good. (check GB for current sale prices)

    Hello if i am not mistaken I think the lightning model was a take off of the MIL.style HIGH STANDARD.They had some feed problems and the early SS guns had problems with the steel alloy.

    The picture I posted is of two AMT Lightings they are marked AMT Lighting Covina,Calif.
    The name is laser engraved and is hidden some what by the red dot scopes.Ruger sued them and won because they are on the most part exact copies.
    You can have a Ruger top and a AMT lower or vice versa.[:)]

    Hello ATF I stand corrected . I have been shooting high standards for longer then I like to admit when they went out of business . someone starting building a look alike and I thought those guns were named LIGHTNING old mans brain f%&* sorry.

    Yes , I do think it was a ruger copy , not real sure how they got away with that trick ? , AMT's quality was always an issue ? they just couldnt seem to get it consistantly right for some reason . I have 'smithed' on many amt products over the years ...

    AMT,had problems with some models but I've never seen any with the .22 Lightning.[8D]

    You forgot the 16.5" barrel there's one in the "Gun List" right now N.I.B. price is $995.00.[:)]

    I have a 5" bull barrel model. They have Clark triggers and Pachmeyer grips. AMT started out making the top ends to go on Rugers. They then brought out the entire pistol. They made these for a while till Ruger sued them and stopped them from making them. Mine is picky about what ammo will fire in them. They are not as well made as the Ruger.

    Mine are 5" and 6.5" barrels they shoot the cheap stuff from Wal-Mart ("Winchester Dyna point") just great.[^] I've had many a Ruger and find my AMTs as well made (Smoother) if not better.[^] [:)]
