FFL dealer license

I have my C & R License but have been thinking about moving up to the dealer license. The only thing holding me other than the $200 in that I would be doing this out of my house. I don't plan on buying and selling guns I just want the ability to have them delivered to my door with out having to go and have an FFL dealer to send his license and do the transfer.

Can anyone tell me the problems I will get into doing this from home? Does antone know someone who has done this. The ATF needs to come up with a license like the C & R but would allow you to get other guns delivered but not sell.

    What you are wanting to do is illegal. The ATF will not give an FFL for personal collection reasons, or for tax reasons. The $200 FFL fee is the smallest of your problems. You will need to get proper zoning (from Residential to commercial) that means going to the city council or town board and pleading your case fro needing an FFL. You will have to get a state sales tax permit, and many states require more permits for firearms business. Keep your C&R and find a good local dealer that will give you a good deal on transfers.

    as far as the zoning issue goes it would all depend on the zoning laws where you live , in the township where i live there are no zoning , you can do what you darn well please as far as having a business goes , so check with your local township , county or city which ever fits your case

    Well, unless you plan on opening a "shop" and deal with all the stuff that comes with a business end of it ...Dont do it , I aggree , find a local small customer friendly shop and deal with them , its worth the low transfer fees ....
