H&R NEF : How can I know which one to buy?
Just when I think I have it figured out...
I want to get the best gun for the long run. If I get a shotgun frame, I'm stuck with shot gun barrels for life. But, if I get a rifle frame (handi-rifle) then I can use rifles or shotguns. BUT...the rifle caliber I want to use is 17 HMR. And NEF claims that you cant put rimfire barrels on anything but the Sportster due to the fireing pin no lineing up. I thought I was out of luck, but then I saw that the Ultra Varmint Rifle is available in 22 WMR. ??? Can I put 22WMR / 17HMR and 12ga slug on the same frame or not?????

No. The centerfire rifle barrels can be mounted only on a SB2 frame. I believe shotguns and the "sporter" rimfires are SB1 frames.
