question about a whitworth rifle

I have a whitworth .270 bolt action rifle and need help finding a set of scope mounts that fit it? The standard "generic" mounts do not hold the setting after the first one or two shots.

  The Whitworth is built on a Mauser action IIRC, might check with your local gunsmith for some mounts

  Are you sure its the mounts and not the scope shifting POI?

  Pretty sure it's not the scope. When I got the rifle it had a small scope on it and I kept on loosing my settings. I then went to a better scope and was still having the same problem. After a few trips to my gunsmith to make sure everything was locked down and bore sighted, I still had the same problem.

  these are built on the mk-10 mauser action and scope mounts can be had at any gunsmith/large gun shop(weaver #55 & 20a, leapold fn&mkX) or from brownells.com. this does not sound like a mount problem though (bedding, bad scope, different loads, cheap rings, ect.)
