AC4 Pneumatic Recoil Buffer
Originally designed for military use, this recoil buffer replaces the standard recoil spring buffer found in AR15/M16 rifles. The AC4 is adjustable so that this one model can be used for .223, 5.56 NATO, rifle calibers, some pistol calibers, and a number of alternative rifle cartridges.
This buffer is air-charged and tested to extremes without failure. Because it's air-charged there are no messy leaks commonly found in similar hydraulic products which have historically failed over time. Though, more than improvements in feeding, extracting, and ejecting, the AC4 has been shown to reduce the cyclic rate of a military M4 carbines. Widely used for CMP and hi-power rifles because the AC4 reduces recoil and muzzle climb providing reliability during matches.
Quick and simple installation. No tools required. To install the AC4 Pneumatic buffer, first release the rear takedown pin and pivot the rifle open. Then depress the buffer stop pin and remove your spring buffer. Next insert the AC4 Pneumatic buffer and lock it in place by pushing it behind the buffer stop pin. Finally pivot the rifle closed and lock the rear takedown pin.
Two models available. At Olympic Arms we give our customers options. Now we have two versions of the AC4 Pneumatic Recoil Buffer available. One model is adjustable and the other a standard non-adjustable model.

Adjustable
The adjustable model is tuned by turning a hex head screw on the face of the buffer. You can adjust the AC4 to conform to your needs and to match the AC4 to the cartridge and rifle.

I have tried them in both the M-4 and the standard AR-15, but most people that fire it cant tell any change in recoil. To me it was not worth the price of $140.00 when you can buy a standard recoil spring and buffer for less than 1/4 of that at some stores.

I agree Skydiver, I use a Blackjack buffer that I got for 10.00 bucks. Seems to work well with slight notice in recoil but not much in muzzle climb. Still better than the stock one. 0
